About Shane Bevel

I have been a photojournalist for 10 years but in the last three have pursued a mix of commercial and editorial assignments. The habit of pursuit, I have found, is not a snooze button, readily dismissed with the smack of a heavy hand. One eye, forever, remains focused on the thrill of the chase of the story around the corner, set to go off.

To keep my editorial eye fresh and my commercial style alive, I document the daily and extraordinary force of the people around me. This way, the commercial work is filled with the natural look and energy and awe of real life.

Many of my clients are looking for natural moments depicted under natural light. Others are after a more polished or conceptual look, while still others seek a kind of ingenuity and pace that years of photographing sport and other moving targets have taught me. If my game is always on, it's because the world never turns off.

 

Although I am based in Tulsa, Okla., a love of travel sends me anywhere for my clients. Sometimes around the corner, sometimes across the country and occasionally out of the country all together. 

I work fast, efficiently, with a deft, quick eye sharpened by a variety of stories, characters and settings. Whatever deadline isn't imposed for me, I give myself.
